Rooted in Intention: Bask Becomes a Nonprofit
We are excited to share a meaningful milestone for Bask, Bask is now a nonprofit!
From the beginning, Bask was created as a place to slow down, reconnect, and spend time on the land. What started as a vision for a retreat center has grown into something deeper: a space for restoration, learning, creativity, and care for both people and place.
Becoming a nonprofit allows us to protect and expand that vision for the long term. It strengthens our ability to care for the land, create meaningful healing experiences, and offer educational opportunities that remain accessible to the community.
Today, Bask stewards 150 acres of protected land in Tennessee while offering retreats and experiences that support rest, reflection, and meaningful connection. Our work is guided by three core pillars: Land Restoration, Holistic Health, and Education.
These pillars shape everything we do and reflect our belief that care for the land and care for people are deeply interconnected.

Land Restoration
Bask is a dedicated steward of 150 acres of protected land. Our restoration efforts focus on protecting ecosystems and supporting biodiversity through thoughtful, science informed land care.
This work includes restoring native plants, protecting wetlands and waterways, and supporting habitats for pollinators and wildlife. These efforts strengthen the resilience of the land while preserving natural resources for future generations.
Through collaboration with conservation partners and environmental experts, Bask continues to expand restoration initiatives that allow the land to thrive while also serving as a place of learning and connection.

Holistic Health
A core part of Bask’s mission is expanding access to meaningful healing experiences.
Through donation supported retreats, Bask offers trauma informed experiences designed to create space for rest, reflection, and renewal. These retreats are rooted in connection to the land and support the well being of mind, body, and spirit.
Through an application based program, Bask offers these retreats at no cost to selected participants. This approach helps remove financial barriers while prioritizing individuals and communities who may benefit most from time for deep rest and healing.

Education
Education at Bask is rooted in curiosity, creativity, and hands-on experience.
Through workshops, classes, and gatherings for adults, children, and families, Bask offers opportunities to learn about plants, ecosystems, art, and creative practices while spending time on the land. The landscape itself becomes a classroom, inviting exploration, observation, and deeper understanding.
Programs may include nature education, creative workshops led by artists and educators, and experiential learning that encourages participants to build a relationship with the environment around them.
By making many of these programs free or donation supported, Bask works to ensure that learning opportunities remain accessible to a wide range of participants.
Looking Ahead
At its heart, Bask is both a sanctuary and a living system. It restores ecosystems while creating space for rest, learning, and connection.
Becoming a nonprofit allows Bask to deepen this work and protect it for generations to come. It ensures that the land remains cared for, that healing experiences are available to those who need them most, and that education rooted in the land continues to be shared.
Every contribution directly supports the care of the land, the expansion of accessible healing experiences, and the development of educational programs.
If you feel called to support this work, we invite you to be part of it.
